The Academy offers various short courses for those seeking to improve their skills, or for those who are simply interested learning beauty techniques.Depilatory Waxing WRBSS302B
This course covers various aspects of waxing including the use of hot wax and strip techniques. The student will gain a clear understanding of hair, patterns of growth, the importance of consultation and assessing for contra-indications, as well as relevant legislation relating to this field.
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Note: WRBSS302B Provide temporary depilation and bleaching treatments has been directly taken from the WRB04 Beauty Training Package, and is a module from Diploma of Beauty Therapy WRB50105. Students will study WRBCS305A Apply knowledge of skin biology to beauty treatments as a co-requisite of this module.
Facial Treatments WRBFS406B
Students will learn how to perform a range of facial treatments, including cleansing, skin analysis, exfoliation, massage and the application of the appropriate mask. Students will learn the anatomy and physiology of the face, the importance of hygiene and safe practices in a salon environment.
You will be trained using Dermalogica products at the Dermal Institute and are required to cover a number of units working from home. This is an intense course with a high level of commitment required. Please call the Academy for more information on how to enrol.
Note: WRBF406B has been directly taken from the WRBCS407A as a pre-requisite and the following modules as co-requisites: WRBCS305A, WRBCS408A, WRBCS409A.

Lash and Brow Treatments WRBFS305B
Students will learn to provide a range of services such as eyelash and brow tinting, bleaching and brow shaping. They will learn to understand the needs of the client, beginning with a thorough consultation, the causes and management of possible skin reactions and giving aftercare advice.
Note: WRBFS305B has been directly taken from the WRB04 Beauty Training Package, and is a module from WRB50105 (Diploma of Beauty Therapy). Students will study WRBCS305A as a co-requisite of this module.

Spa Therapy
Prerequisites: Body Massage/Diploma of Beauty Therapy/Cert IV
This course offers students an insight into the spa industry. The spa industry is a multi-million dollar business hence it is valuable for a beauty therapist to understand and have a good grasp of spa treatments knowledge. This course covers spa treatments such as hydrotherapy, Vichy showers, body wraps and other wet body treatments that are required in day spas. Theory courses are taught in our Academy website and practical training will be conducted in our modern, state of the art spa.

Microdermabrasion Basic SCBMICR01
This course will give students with an understanding of Microdermabrasion and how it affects the general functioning of the skin. A demonstration of the procedure will be given by the trainer.

Cosmetic Tattooing WRBSS505B
Pre-requisites: Diploma of Beauty Therapy/Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy
In this course you will learn to design and perform cosmetic tattooing, covering areas of the face for make-up definition. This intensive course will provide you with the skills and confidence required to perform this service.
Beginners Class: A four-day practical class covers the following topics: Brow Shaping & Shading, Lip Line, Lash Line, Top and Under Eye Liner & Beauty Spots.
The training manual will be forwarded to students on receipt of their registration form and deposit. (Allow 2-4 days to read the manual and this should be bought to class for reference on practical work).

Introduction to Beauty - $990This course is designed to give students an insight into the beauty industry. You will learn basic skills and knowledge in a number of areas including performing manicures and pedicures, tinting, facials and waxing.

Manicure & Pedicure Workshop - $400
Students will learn the basic techniques of performing manicures and pedicures. This course covers basic nail science, express and deluxe manicure and pedicure techniques includes Paraffin application and French polish techniques.

Tinting Workshop - $150
Students will learn basic tinting techniques including colour selection theory, eyelash and brow tinting application and removal and contra-indications to tinting treatments.
